Why
The Home Office stop and search summary tables for the year ending 31 March 2025 publish searches by self-defined ethnicity by police force area, with an annex table of search rates per 1,000 population by force area and ethnicity (Annex A.1), using Census 2021 denominators for the latest five years. Ethnicity facts and figures repeats the per-1,000 rates for all 43 force areas but stops at the year ending March 2023.

Self-defined ethnicity was not stated for 18.4% of searches in the year ending March 2025. Officer-defined ethnicity in data.police.uk records is a different measure and is not comparable.
