What this doesn’t measure
People accommodated by local authorities or other schemes, or the cost of support.
Important caveat
This is a snapshot count at the end of the quarter of people (main applicants and dependants) receiving Home Office asylum support under sections 95, 98 and 4, split by the published category. Accommodation and region labels are kept exactly as published; hotel accommodation is "Contingency Accommodation - Hotel". Data for 2026 Q1 onwards is provisional.
