What this measures
The estimated number of people who moved to the UK intending to stay at least 12 months, over a 12-month period, split into the three nationality groups ONS publishes in Table 1 - British, EU+ (EU countries plus EFTA and associated microstates), and non-EU+.
What this doesn’t measure
Individual nationalities (ONS publishes only the three groups in this table), country of birth, or where in the UK people settled.
Important caveat
ONS estimates of long-term international migration are produced from administrative data and are rounded to the nearest thousand. The most recent periods are provisional and are revised in later publications, sometimes by tens or hundreds of thousands, as more data becomes available.
Revision history
No period of this series has been revised since it was first ingested here. Revisions are recorded automatically when a later release publishes a different figure for the same period.
