What is inflation for a household with my spending pattern?

Why

The ONS publishes the Consumer Prices Index for each of the twelve COICOP divisions monthly in the MM23 time series, and Family Spending gives the average spending of each household type on the same divisions. Both are loaded and combined on /tools/personal-inflation as a fixed-basket rate with the household's own weights; the ONS published its own "personal inflation calculator" on the same basis. There is no official regional consumer price index, so no location adjustment is possible, and no sub-division (class) indices are loaded, so a household's mix within a division is taken as the national one.

What is known

• CPI, CPIH and RPI all-items indices and annual rates, monthly
• CPI index by COICOP division 01 to 12, monthly from 1988
• Average weekly spending by division and household composition

What is not known

• A regional or local price index (not published by the ONS)
• Class-level (sub-division) indices, which would let a household weight, say, rent against energy within division 04

Unlikely. Everything needed is published in open tables; the remaining gaps are things the ONS does not produce.

Privacy and disclosure restrictions

None. Only published aggregates are involved; the household's weights stay in the address bar.
